– Based in Paris, NEW RELATION is a metamorphic entity, a hybrid and multidisciplinary project developed by the fashion designer Mattia Akkermans and the choreographer- visual artist Morgan Belenguer.

Through the design of garments and the transposition of their pattern structures into sculptures and environments activated during ritual performances, New Relation explores the diversity of metabolic and spiritual relationships forged between supposedly hermetic categories such as human–non-human and living–non-living, and the ways in which these inter-species relations(the ‘pidgins’) can shape, impact or transform ecosystems, lives, habitats, identities and worlds.

À travers l’élaboration de vêtements et la transposition de leurs structures-patrons en sculptures, en environnements activés lors de performances rituelles, New Relation se penche sur la diversité des liens métaboliques et spirituels noués entre des catégories supposées hermétiques tel que l’humain – non humain, vivants – non vivants et sur les façons dont ces liens inter-espèces (les pidgins) peuvent composer, impacter ou métamorphoser des écosystèmes, des vies, des habitats, des appartenances, des mondes.
