THESE PATTERNS THAT INHABIT THEM

Campaign – June, 2024

These Patterns That Inhabit Them is a collection that consists of a series of cartographic garments representing the way in which a collective makes (the) world and how it bonds and identifies with a place, a habitat which reciprocally inhabits the collective.

Each garment is made of two different fabrics with multiple fluid, organic shapes. The clash between these two different elements creates lines of encounters that are at once traces and paths, but also points of access, passages between an interior and an exterior or vice versa. Some of these sinuous lines that cross the entity’s bodies are white. They appear like lightning bolts in the dark, as reference points, singular marks that run through the clothes and unite the collective.

This thought on the encounter of differences embedded in the garments is deployed into other forms, therefore New Relation has invited stylist Nayeli de Alba and photographer Valentino Barbieri to give their point of view on the collection and make it their own. The encounter has resulted in a series of images, reflecting the essence of the garment’s elaboration process.
